Ingredients
  • 150 g of flour 0
  • 100 g of Manitoba flour
  • 125 ml of whole milk
  • 1 egg
  • 1 sachet of dehydrated brewer’s yeast
  • 1 teaspoon of fine salt
  • 200 g of thinly sliced salami
  • 150 g of semi-hard cheese
  • 40 g of walnuts
Procedure

In a large bowl put the two flours, milk, eggs, yeast and egg. Mix well with a whisk and then knead until the mixture is soft. Cover it with tissue paper and let it rest for about 2 hours. Now divide the dough into 3 pieces and roll them out with a rolling pin, creating 3 long strips. Inside these lay the salami, cheese and walnuts. Close them again so as to obtain 2 cords. Now weave them together forming a large braid. Place it on a baking sheet with parchment paper and let it rise for another 30 minutes. Brush with the egg yolk beaten with milk and sprinkle with poppy seeds. Bake the braid at 180 degrees for 20 minutes. Serve it hot enough.
